How awful! I'm in BC and w...No local cherries? How awful! I'm in BC and we had a pretty good crop here this year, but the orchardists didn't fare very well. Seems a lot of cheaper imports blew the market out of the water and some orchardists actually got a bill rather than a cheque from processors this year for the crop. Some just dumped the fruit. I find that very worrying, as local orchards are shrinking and turning into acres of McMansions on a daily basis. You can't support local food producers if they don't exist.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
